Tips |
| 1) Wet body and fenders |
Prevents cleaning solutions from streaking body/fenders |
Express Car Wash diluted 1-to-1 in foamer jar (set foamer to 64-to-1) |
Foamer Gun; 5 gallon Bucket |
Paint surface should be cool to the touch |
2) Clean the following areas using a pressure washer:
- Engine Compartment
- Door jambs
- Behind the gas filler door
- Tires
- Wheels
- Fender wells
- Bumpers
- Lower body below moldings
- All exterior surfaces
- Spare tire - remove from trunk
|
Pressure washer is quicker; cleans better in hard to reach places, rinsing away dirt that could scratch painted surfaces when washing with mitt |
|
|
- Do not apply solvent or adhesive remover directly to a hot engine; never spray solvents
- Clean underside of hood by hand, do not use pressure washer
- Do not use pressure washer inside of trunk
|
| 3) Wash entire body |
|
Express Car Wash diluted 1-to-1 in foamer jar (set foamer to 64-to-1) OR dilute 2 oz. to a 5 gallon bucket |
|
Use 2 buckets; one "clean" suds bucket for exterior cleaning; a second bucket for door, trunk, and underhood jambs, and fender wells and wheels |
| 4) Rinse thoroughly |
|
|
Cut off hose bib for quick rinsing and to reduce sudsing |
Remove metal water hose end (male) to avoid scratching paint |
| 5) Spray water based dressing in an "H" pattern over engine compartment |
Produces a satin finished appearance |
FadeAway |
Pressurized spray tank or spray bottle |
Do not use solvent dressing |
